...I'm able to login again! I had some problems with a bug in the login system of this blog, so I wasn't able to blog for almost three weeks. For some odd reason, the login worked again today, so it's time to do some serious catching up!

Today must be my lucky day, 'cause the login thing works again AND the new design of the website is finally up and running. Well, for the English part of the website, that is. Feel free to check it out. If you come across weird looking pages, errors or other mistakes, please let me know.

Pug pictures needed

March 2nd, 2007

The new website design is making progress. One of the features that will be added soon, is a Pug Image Gallery. This Gallery, of course, will be loaded with cute and funny Pug pictures. But, because I don't want to add only pictures of myself, I need some pretty Pug pictures. So, if you want to be in the Image Gallery, please email your favorite picture(s) to, post it in the forum, or post a link to the picture in a comment.

1 year

February 20th, 2007

It's been exactly a year since the website was launched. It seems like it has been up and running for, like, forever (at least, it seems like that for me).

When the website was launched waaaaay back in 2006, I didn't thought it would be this popular. In the past year, over 107,000 people and/ or Pugs have visited These visitors have seen over 700,000 pages, according to my statistical friends over at Statcounter.

As you might know, I have been working like a madman on the new design lately. This design will be the third design in just over a year. This actually was the first (temporary) design. Yuk!

I need your help!

February 11th, 2007

As you might know, I am currently working on a redesign for the main website (it's also the reason why I haven't posted and commented a lot, lately). Without opposable thumbs, it can be quite frustrating to build a website. Have you ever tried to hit the CTRL, ALT and DEL buttons with only two paws and no thumbs?

However, the new design is coming along quite well. The biggest part is finished now, but I need your help. Yes, your help!

You can see a small version of the first version of the new design below. If you click on the image, you'll see a larger version.

Please tell me what you think. Is it ok, should I change the colors, should I change the navigation? You can compare the new version with the current version.
The large screen shot also reveals the new feature I've been working on, a Pug Image Gallery (you can't visit it yet, though). Should I add more features and -if so- what features do I have to add?

Please let me know what you think (no lurking allowed ;-) ), I really need some feedback of the pros (other Pugs!). Feel free to ask all of your Pug friends what they think of the new design and what changes they'd like to see.

Pug of the Year

January 1st, 2007

It was a really close finish, we've counted over a hundred votes:

MopsMax: 10 votes
Marijke: 11 votes
Mypugsblog: 39 votes
Ladybird: 40 votes
Peklong: 2 votes

Which means that Ladybird's Pugs have been chosen as Pugs of the Year! The difference between Ladybird and the runner up (Mypugsblog) was only one vote! Congratulations to Ladybird!

The new photo contest will start in a few days, so every Pug will have a chance to become Pug of the Month February.

Pug of the Year contest

December 22nd, 2006

This special photo contest is coming to an end. Five pictures have been chosen to enter the final. Everybody can vote right here for his or her favourite picture until the last day of this year, December 31st.

On January first, the winner will be announced. This Pug(s) will win the 'Pug of the Year'award, along with a hand made painting of the winning picture. The finalists are mashed up in the picture below.

Happy voting!

The vet - part two

November 14th, 2006

Earlier today, I was dragged to the vet. I really don't like going there, I've had surgery twice and that wasn't fun.
The good news is that my ear infection is gone. Those nasty ear drops sure did a good job. It is going ok with the diet as well, I lost 0,5 kg (about 1 pound) in ten days. Easy does it. No bad news, only good news. That's why I'm really happy!

(Yeah, I know, I suck at Photoshopping...)

Another happy thing is that the comments work again. Some of my readers (thanks Norman!) pointed out that the captcha (the anti-spam type over thingy) was a pain in the butt. I tried to work on it, but managed to break it. That's why you couldn't add a comment during the past few days. I fixed it again and changed it, I should be a piece of cake now ;-) Calendar winners

November 6th, 2006

All of the winners of the Pugs of the Month contest had the chance to win the Calendar 2007. The Calendar is ready and the three winners of this calendar are:

Toby (Toby, Pug of the Month July)
Mypugsblog (Meimei & Miko, Pugs of the Month October)
Rolex (Rolex, Pug of the Month November)

The calendar is available in the store and will look like the inmage below.

Congratulations to the winners!
If you didn't win, you can always try your luck in the Pug of the Year contest. The winner will win a painted (not printed, but painted by hand!) version of the winning picture. You can join this competition (or read more about it) here.

Photo contest: win a Pug painting!

November 2nd, 2006

Each month, has a photo contest; the Pug of the Month contest. This time, the photo contest will be slightly different than the previous times. It will be the Pug of the Year contest.

The winner will get -ofcourse- eternal fame and will be mentioned in the Pug Blog and on the home page. The winner will also receive a real painting of the winning picture. Not a print, but a painting made by hand. The winner can choose from three different styles (see the examples below), fltr Realistic, Romantic or Pop-Art.

This painting will be made by one of our sponsors, unfortunately, their website isn't finished yet so I can't link to them yet. When their website is online, I'll post it here on this blog and in the forum as well.

More information is available in this forum thread.

Pug of the Month - November

October 31st, 2006

Each month, one of my friends from the Pug Forums will be the 'Pug of the Month'. More than 80 forum members have voted and Rolex has been crowned as Pug of the Month November. Unfortunately, this picture of Rolex doesn't show his size. He's huge!
